Default 24 hours to go.

24 hours to go and i will have my first muzzleloader in had. I am to the point i wish i bought it local. As i can not stand waiting.

My plan is to be hunting the ups truck down early i know the driver a good bit so he should just hand it over. When i stopped him last week after i was told they lost the label he said if it had been on his truck he would have known where to drop it. As he knows us somewhat. Hopefully this time tomorrow i am shooting.
Heres my set plan let me know if i am going about it wrong. First clean the gun with bore cleaner.
SEtup 25 yards get on paper and maybe on the bullseye. Drop out to 100 yards sight it in dead on groups of 3 shots. Hopefully i will be grouping good by then. My plan is the 250 grain shockwave with the black sabot with 125 grains of 777. That should get my omeba bdc scope dead on with the marks. Or atleast thats what i was told. Figure shoot run a windex patch down then alchole down. Do this every shot. WIth no oil between shots. I will also be using the remington 209 primers. Anything wrong with that plan. If so correct me please. I will get some picks of the groups. Unless they suck then sorry no pics.

Sounds like you right on for starting out. I use the Shockwaves 250 grain bullets with the supplied black sabots and fire 100 grains of Pyro Pellets and can group within 2" at 100 yards using a Remington Kleenbore 209 primer. My muzzle velocity was around 1780 fps last time I checked a long time ago. I would start out at 90 grains of powder and gradually go up in 5 grain increments if you use loose powder. My other muzzy does great with same load but using 110 grains of loose Pyrodex. You never know. Most guns work well in that 90-110 range IMO. Good luck and let us know how you do.
