Default do i need a dehemidifier

hey guys. It looks like i will be getting a cheap small safe for xmas. Mom and dad said they properly would get me one. I showed them a 14 gun sentery at walmart for 419. But i need to store my guns now. It has come to the point where i need a storage place now. I have a young cousin who likes to looka t stuff and he is a young boy. he has atleast looked at my glock without me or anyone around once. I have been locking my bedroom up but we remodeling and i am not in the room. My thought is but a lock on the closet. Heres my question. The closet is about 6x6 with a 10 foot ceiling do i need a dehemidifer for my guns. I have a 10/22 a 12ga 500 a glock 21 and will have my triumph here in a few days. Will it be ok till i get one. I worry that since the closet is in a unheat room with three exterior walls it might draw some moisture. Do you think i will be ok till xmas.

actually big, I don't think a dehumidifier will work well for you in a 'cold' room. I have 2 in my finished (unheated) basement and they haven't kicked on ever since it got cooler out. When you get a gun safe, I would recommend some way of keeping moisture out. There is a thing called "The Golden Rod" that is supposed to keep out moisture. I put a ceramic light base in my safes and keep a 40 watt light bulb burning in it. As long as it is warmer in the safe than the room, there will be no moisture in the safe.

Yai can't wait to get a safe. Hate wondering if my guns are still there. I bought a little black metal box at walmartfor 30 bucks formy glock.Justhada keyed cam lock. Sucked.I lost the key and need in the thing. So i drilled it out. I need to get a new lock but something about it taking 10 seconds to drill out worried me. Ant done it yet notsure i will. Might fix it and give it to dad to keep his money and little stuff in.
