Default The Things You Try When You're Bored

If you have some of Lane's 10 ml powder tubes, did you know you can make a very functional speedloader by cutting one off at the 5 ml level and jamming it on the end of another tube? It's a little tricky to get it started, but once it goes on it holds real well - no glue needed.

This one has a 300 grain Gold Dot, H5045B sabot, and a 209 primer in the short end.

Yeah, I know - I'm totally nuts as my wife says.

(2) If you love animals as I do, then you're not a vegetarian.
(3) There's no need to act stupid, even if you're very good at it.
(4) If you eat right and exercise, don't smoke or drink, you're going to die anyway.

I like it. And much cheaper than the ones you buy.

I mentioned something similar to this in a recent forum, I use the Plastic Tubes that the 50Cal Pyrodox Pellets come in, in the Blister Pack. There long enough to get your powder in and your bullet and sabot. You can cut one end to fit your size, then use the red cap and cap er up. There lose enough so the bullet/sabot slides out nice.

Good idea! Had to try it. I modified your process on the second one . Band saw for the cut, then I used my brass chamfer tool to smooth out the cut. I just heated up the open end with a hair dryer. Started with ease. Then stuck it in the vise an compressed it till my bullit, sabot, primmer end had no movement. Done it less then 2 min.
With my load I am able to use the short tubes for my powder. Total length is 3 3/8".
Better then store bought for sure, with no rattles.
