Was at the local WalMart today and wandered over to the sporting goods department to see what they had for muzzle loaders. Nothing! No powder, no bullets, nothing but shotgun shells and a few cleaning supplies.
When I commented to the lady behind the counter about the lack of muzzle loader supplies she said "Well, you know, guns are a real problem. Kids are being killed every day. WalMart isn't going to sell that stuff."
So I say "But I notice you have a whole isle of paint ball guns and gear. Those are made for no other reason than to shoot people."
She just looked at me as though I'd farted in chruch.

When my local store stopped carring guns, I starting buying all my sporting goods at a local sporting goods stores. Costs a couple of dollars more, but if they aren't going to support me, I am not going to support them.

Many years ago there was a nice little gun store in Stockbridge Ga. Not only could I buy handguns, rifles and ammo, I could also buy all of my black powder supplies. Well, they opened a Wal-Mart store across the street. They also sold handguns, rifles and muzzeloaders and supplies for them -for less money I might add.
The little gun store was soon out of business. Then Wal-Mart decided they no longer wanted to sell handguns. Now, This particular Wal-mart no longer sells long guns .
I guess it's just not politically correct.
Of course the little gun store has long been out of business and will never return.
Big chains like W.M can sell consumers goods cheaper than local small businesses but at what cost in the long run?
Isn't your location New York or the Republic of Kalifornia? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!
Nope! I'm in firearms friendly Louisiana. We have an "open carry" law and you can carry a sidearm in a holster in public if you want. We have the "Louisiana Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday" the first weekend of September, and a "shoot the hijacker" law that protect citizens who shoot someone trying to hijack their vehicle. Definitely NOT the Republic of Kalifornia.

I think you are going to see a lot more of this happening. Big Chain Giants can afford to drop product lines once they run all the others out of business. Our Wal Mart used to carry a real nice selection if rifles. They now have a Traditions Pursuit, a Wolf, a Buckhorn Magnum, and a Omega Z5 and their supplies are about next to nothing.
In fact I was talking to the manager of their sales department a while back and commented on their lack of goods. He replied that when they stock a lot of items, no one buys them until the end of the year when they put them all on sale. So I mentioned, perhaps the consumer was trying to tell Wal Mart to lower their prices a little. But he never answered.
