If I were going to shoot a 45cal bullet, I'd go heavier.

If I wanted to shoot a 200gr bullet, I'd go narrower (40cal)

The reason is sectional density. A 200gr bullet is longer in a smaller caliber so essentially for its frontal surface area there is more energy to drive it through the target

I think 200gr is great for a 40cal bullet, I'd step to the 240gr if you want a 45cal bullet.

This is the beauty of the 50cal,the versitality.

For deer, I have had good luck with 200gr 40cal bullets. And also 240gr .44-.45 bullets.

I agree with Spaniel. A .451 200 grainer is fine for the .45 ACP, but not well suited to muzzle loader applicantion at anything beyond 50 yards. It's too short for its diameter.

I'd want a longer bullet, ie 250gr 451 or drop your caliber of bullet and keep the 200gr weight.

Helped my buddy sight in his TC Triumph and since we use 240gr XTP's we tried them on his ML, they worked great. We used 105gr's of T7 and 777 Primer or Winchester W209 primers, both worked equal.
