Default Nice snow storm

Dumped a foot on us! Total white out today. If the weather is fair tomorrow i want to do more shooting @ 100 with the hawken in the snow. Im shooting 90gr RS so im going to check the snow in front after each shot and see if theres any unburnt/wasted powder. Also going to check out the new trails we cut this september and see how visability is with snow on the ground.

Not this early Dave of course you are up north. MD54 is in CO and they get snow up high a lot earlier. I do like a good snow just before I hunt also'

i should get a 3rd season bull tag. And hope the cold weather is still around LOL. Its driving the turkey all over the place. Theres a pond just down the road and i went to get mail yesterday and there were around 15-18 turkey all huddled under a big cedar tree. Some of these turkey look to be a good 20 + lbs.

Hey MD, let us know how much RS burns clean untill she starts to blow a little out, Im using 110gr's of RS and was wondering if that's the max. Also I like the snow, but last Opening day of Hunting Season (Gun) here it rained, then it snowed and snowed and snowed and never stopped. We had over 3' in the Hills where we have 200+ Acres, we could'nt hunt there at all that season, we had to hunt down on the flats with less snow. But there's some Big Bucks there this year that were safe from last season. Im never gonna pray for snow again for opening day!
When we get a-lot of snow the Turkeys gather by the roads as this is the only place they can get around on. Have fun in the snow and good luck with a Bull.

well i took 2 shots at 100 yards and ended up with a 4" group. I will have to work on powder charges and see if i can tighten things up.

I looked closely on the ground, on out to 15 yards and there wasnt any blown out unburnt powder so thats a good thing. I will up it to 100-110gr RS and see if i can shrink the groups.

I also took one more shot @ 50 yards at a tree, hit dead center and again, no unburnt powder on the ground.

28" barrel and 90gr RS.
