Default Took the CVA Hawken out

Got my 100 yard target all fixed up again. Im using 90gr RS with .018 pillow ticking, soaked in elk tallow ( Very waxy!!) and home cast .490 round balls. Loads up nice and snug. Also used cci #11 mags.

My first shot was perfect. The next 2 worried me so i got into a better shooting position and the 2 final shots were awesome. I figure that my shooting off the knee and using a sand bag was hurting my first 3 shot accuracy. Once i got the entire rifle settled down into the sand bags, accuracy came together perfectly.

Im going to clean the rifle and try 3 more shots later on and see how i do.

Nice'N Waxy.

Recovered patches, i figured 2 would do. All of the rest looked the same.

Now My first shot i was happy as heck with. Its shots #2 and #3 that had me worried. 4 & 5 had me real happy.

Now to go clean the bore out and load up some more ammo. Hopefully my next 3 shots will be in order.

You do wipe that waxy mess of the muzzle after loading? It just looks so tacky.

No, i leave it. I just finished shooting again. Much better! My 3rd shot opened up what would have been a really good group but thats open sights. I was compressing the Pyrodex until i felt it compress. The next time out i will not compress it tight and see how it does.

Im uploading the pics now so they will be up soon.
