Any Knight Disc .45 shooters?

A friend of mine just bought one, NIB, and was wondering

what are some good loads to try, will be for whitetail hunting. Thanks in advance.

I asked him about that and he said there is nothing other than Knight Disc on the gun. It does have the stainless fluted barrel and synthetic stock if that helps. I'll see if I can find out anymore.....

Would be good to know the rate of twist (rifling). This could be one of the Super DISC .45 that has the 1 full twist in 20".

I shoot a DISC 45, mine is a DISC Extreme with the fluted MHC barrel. The DISC you are talking about if it has open sites on the barrel or the screws to install sights it is an Extreme. If the conture barrel has not go any sights it is probably a Elite. The model number on the box would tell you.

I am not thinking it is the knight Super DISC which came with a 1/20 twist rate - it probably is a newer one with the the more compatible 1/30 twist.

One of the bullets I shoot is the Hornady .40/200 grain XTP. It is an excellent bullet for the price with the ability to easily harvest whitetail and yet allow to afford to shoot it at paper or even varmints.

I load 110 grains of T7-2f, and either use the Harvester Light Tan Sabot or the MMP HPH-.40/45 light blue sabot.

If you are looking for a premium bullet (expensive)then the Hornady SST or TC Shockwave (.40/200 grain) are excellent projectiles as rated by most. Barnes also makes some real fine offerings. Then there is a new bullet operating on a different theory available made by Lehigh the offer a .40/185-200 grain bullets - I would suggest the 185 to begin with. The new theory they are using is really an old theory used in Europe for a long time now.

To begin with i really would suggest the Hornady .40/200 grain XTP or even the Speer .40/180 grain Gold Dot if you can find either bullet.

Let me know if you think it might be a Super DISC - that leads to another whole set of problems. another clue is the bolt held in place with a Allen wrench screw or a Quich release retractable pin?

Sabotloader, thanks for the info, it's been passed to my friend. Sqezer, I have sent you a PM.

To make a long story short, my friend was in a gun shop and found 2 of these rifles NIB, purchased them for $200 each! One has synthetic stock with stainless barrel and the other has wood stock with blued barrel. He's been shooting a flinter and wanted something new to try and unsure about what to try. Thanks again.
