Default .44 vs .45 Caliber and Crud Ring?

Has anyone experienced getting past the crud ring with a follow-up shot by switching from 45 to 44 and Crushed Ribbed sabots? Just wondering if the added plastic may help. I know we're not talking about much of a size difference, but I figured I would at least ask.

Thanks

Due to the fact that crudring normally forms for a short distance and it would rattle through the rest of the barrel I suspect that the accuracy would be so bad that it might be quite a challenge to hit any thing. If you try it, make sure that your sabot bullet combination stays against the powder or you may create a obstructed barrel situation. Lee

Good point on the accuracy. A small amount shouldn't bother me much since my shots are under 75yds, but I'm only looking for a quicker way to follow-up. May be switching back to Pyrodex.

I can appreciate the fact you're thinking ahead. I always immediately load up after my shot on game. I saw one of the "pro's" high fiving the cameraman a while back as his trophy buck regained his bearings after being shot, and ran off. Try a quick reload at the range and see how it works. My rifle shoots the crushed ribs well enough that I carry them in my speed loaders in the field. Just gives me a little more confidence that a quick re-load will be quick.
