Knocked the Dust off "Ole Betsy" Today

It has been a while since my last post. Busy with life and living and such, but with this cool weather I just couldn't help myself. I grabbed a can of 3F Goex, my primer horn of 4F Goex, a box of 245 gr Buffalo Ball-ett's, Ole Betsy (a .50 cal Lyman GPR Flintlock, 1:60 Twist) and a few targets and headed out to the local pit.

Nothing like a huge cloud of blue smoke on a cool, calm morning to give you the itch.

Load: 245 gr Buffalo Ball-ett, 100 gr loose 3F Goex, 4F Goex in the pan.
Range: 35 yds Off-hand Standing
Sights: V-Peep Fibre Optic
Point of Aim: I placed the bottom circle on top of my bead. (Most of the time.

)

After shots 1-4 I got all excited and pulled my 5th shot a little high.

Frost this morning and deer season is just around the corner.

I wore my seeing glasses today. It's amazing what you can see when you wear them. lol

I could NEVER convince my dad of that fact... he would only get them if it were really necessary... me I wear contacts...

That is some darn good shooting.. off hand shooting is hard. That is really good.

I shocked myself. I haven't shot Betsy since the spring. I was quite impressed with how the Ball-ett's did out of a slow twist.
