Default Itchy finger. Accura struck this morning

Its not a monster but this guy had an itchy finger. 105gr Pyrodex RS, 250gr Ballistic Tip Thor @ 175 yards. This hunt took place up near Raton New Mexico. My brother in law was the hunter and i was there to video and lend my rifle to him.

I caught the shot on camera and will upload the video soon. I just have to figure out if i can do a few bleeps to cut out some of my potty mouth
Sorry couldnt edit the movie, heres the short clip,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w_fSppYWIY

Neck shot that went into the front of the shoulder, Entrance,

Broke spine * upper portion of the shoulder blade and stopped just under the hide. That 250gr Ballistic Tip opens up!

In the meat shop,

Bullet did the job perfectly and weighs 247.6 grains. It basically lost zero weight as the Tip was meant to expand the bullet and fall out. Elk this December is next with this bullet!

congratulations on the hunt. Also the bullet performed perfect IMO so this is some real good information. I am sure the elk are not happy to hear the news.

Unless you are in a different state, you may want to let that "guy" know muzzleloading season ended last Sunday... I would have thought that bullet would have been a pass through.

CO. Sept 24th is new mexicos muzzleloading season. I thought so too but that bullet went through a lot of bone. Spine and shoulder.
