Question Cabela's Blue Ridge Rifle Opinions

I have quite a few Cabela's points saved up and was thinking about getting one of these in .54 flintlock.

Cabela’s Blue Ridge Rifle

From what I understand they are made for Cabela's by David Pedersoli. Is that correct?

Anyone know anything about these and have some opinions? The reviews look good for what it's worth.

I don't have that particular gun but i do have 3 different pedersoli's and the quality is excellent in all of them. My Lyman great plains Rifle is the only Traditional gun that I think i would pick over the pedersoli. If you get that gun i'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The Blue Ridge I was told were Pedersolli. I have handled them at a store once. They are beautiful.

Blue Ridge is a take off of the old Hatfield. The architecture is the same, probably carved from the same dummy. The Hatfield was a good shooter with clean lines and well balanced when carried afield. They did have an issue with their frizzens not being hardened enough and suffered from broken mainsprings, all issues that can be readily fixed. The only real issue with the rifle is that although it is pleasing to the eye it can be a bit troublesome for a few to shoulder it and eye down the sights as there is not alot of drop in the comb. I suggest locating one and see what you think.

If you opt for the Blue Ridge and experience any of the above problems and cannot locate spare lock parts, PM me. Good Hunting.

Thanks for the input. I'm still a few dollars short so I'll have to wait a little longer. I'll see if I can find one at the Cabela's in KC on my way to CO next month.
