Default I saw him!!

Finally fixed the atv that broke down on me. Well i took it for a ride down the road and on the way back home i glanced over to the right, slammed down on the breaks and backed it up. Over in my neighbors yard was the BIG black/reddish bear thats been giving us trouble! That sucker has a head on him. He took off after a little bit and i just now went outside to check out the trash area as my dog started barking. The dogs over the next canyon were barking and going nuts so it wont be to long before hes up at our place.

trash is a natural draw to bear that are used to being around humans. I had a neighbor that had his aluminum truck topper door torn off because he had dog food in the back that he forgot to take out...

Sounds like a nice colored bear. Keep your dogs close on a big one, and your rifle closer... good luck

Sadly i bought a bear tag for unit 84. I live in unit 85 LOL. However, what i can do is practice hunt and learn how these bears work. I dont have a clue on how to hunt them other than spot and stalk and look for berries and such. After the hail storm, it pretty muched knocked off a lot of pine needles and branches off the trees and now i have a fairly good view of the surrounding canyon by my home. It also kind of works against me as it left a 4" thick layer of pine needles on the forest floor and makes walking very very quiet. Bears are quiet without those needles so i have to watch my back pretty good now. Ive started carrying my 30-30 in the woods now rather that my flintlock.

I hope i can get some pics of him.
