So far from what I have heard, this bill has no sponsors or support. But that doesn't mean it can't change for the worst.

We need to stay vigilant and keep an eye on these anti's. They will not quit until all our guns are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are so many other bills just like this that never see the light of day. I don't see why this one would be any different.

While I agree that it probably has no chance of even making it to a vote, it is still important to know what kind of thinking is out there.
I feel the best way to keep something like this from coming is to educate some of these city people about shooting sports and hunting. It is hard to believe what a small percentage of our population actually hunts and shoots. Also keeping the sport alive through youth involvement is extremely important.
Just my thoughts,
Art

This bill has been floating around for some time. There seems to be little to no support for this idea. The reason? Political suicide! The one thing most politicians understand is, Americans are in love with our guns and don't want them messed with. Further, you mess with them, you better not have future plans in the political arena.

While there are a lot of anti gun organizations out there, they pale to the gun owners/supporters in this country. Politicians are well aware of this fact. Now don't get me wrong, this kind of legislation and other like it need to be watched, watched close, and when you see it make your opinions and voice known to your members of the Senate and congress.

For the most part anyone running for office avoids upsetting the NRA and gun owners. In fact they always like to see the support of the NRA. Look at the last election. Consider Sarah Palin. One of her selling points was, she hunts moose, fishes, and advocates gun ownership. While at the same time, the presidential candidates avoided that issue all together. Why, they did not want to upset the gun owners of America.

This bill has hit the house before and was avoided at that time. Again, while I watch all these kind of things close, I also understand that guns are an intricate part of the American social order. Our country was born because of gun ownership. We helped settle and expand the development of our country through gun ownership. And the idea that you are taking my guns will be met with the utmost resistance from a majority of the American people.

But I commend you for bring this topic back up. Its good to always remember the fragile balance beam gun owners stand on. We do need to be vigilent in our efforts to support, and make our voice heard to those in power of our rights to gun ownership. Another reason to join the NRA.

If only one of these bills pass it would be like a "Termite Stratigy" just as the above article mentions. We all know this so, we have to make sure we as gun owners stick together and unite against such bills. As much as some of you may disagree, our government is corrupt. How do we know that when the bill is voted on, there wont be a (re-count, if you pick up what im puttin down) and then the bill gets passed? We dont. I dont take any of these bills lightly. If one gets through, there will be more to follow. Join the Gun Clubs, join the NRA, get involved otherwise we may have another revolution on our hands. Im not going to just hand over my guns to anybody without a fight. We are a primitive civilization after all. Gun control is being able to hit your target.

That's not the half of it some anti gun crap has been sneaked through as an amendment on a bill that had nothing to do with guns. They will try, and you know we do not have a president that will block that kind of crap. Lee

Bingo!!!!

This is a constant threat to our 2nd Amendment rights. Hughes of PRNJ sneaked an amendment into the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986 that bans the sale of new full auto guns to law abiding US citizens.
