I too would suggest the knight over the Traditions. Its just a better rifle over all. Although, Knight has technically went out of business. But a poster just informed that they contacted Traditions and was told their Remington Genesis was not going to be serviced. So keep that in mind. Service is a very important issue. Knight (to my understanding) is still servicing rifles.
As for your scope.. what's the eye relief on that German Scope. The reason I ask is, these rifles do come back at you. I personally like at least a 3.75 inch eye relief or better. I have shot scopes with less then that, but I hate when they kick back and hit the brim of my hat. Why, I don't know. It's a mind thing with me.
The scopes I really favor are the Nikon Pro Staff in 2-7x32mm, Nikon Omega, and Bushnell 3200 although I normally look for a 2-7x32mm optics. The reason is, my shooting is close and personal. I am more likely to be shooting on 2x or 3x unless sitting. Even then the 2-7x32 gathers great light and allows me to get those last couple of minutes in. What I sacrifice in field of view, I really don't care. I do not take running shots, and most of my shots are a walker, grazer, or stander. I have plenty of time to pick and place my shots, or I just do not take them. The 2-7 does all of that.
Also I hate to spend a fortune on scopes. If I can stay under $200.00 on my better rifles, I am happy. Funny thing is, I have been shooting a 4x Simmons Pro Diamond on a rifle and could not be more pleased with the performance of the scope and how well it is holding up. It cost $29.00. So there you go.
You sound like someone that likes quality. So I would shoot for the Knight, there is also a Knight Rolling Block on sale as Sportsman's Guide right now for $150.00 a great deal. And then a good Nikon scope and you would be all set for out to 150 yard shooting.
