Default New Rifle and some pics and movie

I got this brand new limited edition CVA Plainsman .50cal Flintlock in trade at the Santa Fe Trails Rendezvous. I'd rather not talk about the rendezvous as i still have a strong bitter taste in my mouth from it.

But heres the Plainsman. Shes percussion fast and accurate! My first 2 shots off a small sand bag @ 100 yards measured 1 1/2" center/center and shot #3 opened it up to a final 2 1/2" This rifle came with a 20lb trigger ( and thats not BS ) I was pretty amazed with the accuracy of this rifle. Today i installed an adjustable tumbler that i had on hand and shes got a nice crisp 3 1/2 lb pull.

My nephew caught this on the 13th on his 3rd cast. 23 1/2" 5lb Rainbow trout.

My .50cal Traditions Kentucky on range at the NRA.

Plainsman and the Kentucky after their range session.

Now this is some Entertainment!!

Put a curved buttplate on your shoulder rather than your bicep and it might sting a little.

Holding the butt of the rifle with your hand behind it is one way
to protect the shoulder when shooting off the bench using a rest.
It alsohelps tocontrol the gun torquingdue toshooting heavy,
large caliber bullets like the .45-70.
And it works with lighter weight rifleshaving curved buttplates too!

Improper shoulder to stock positioning. These curved butstocks are actually comfortable to shoot if positioned properly.

Nice looking guns!!!
