Default Traditions Vortek = Genesis & Triumph had a baby

Anyone seen the new Traditions Vortek yet? I'm looking at pictures of it in the most recent Petersons Hunting Magazine. It looks as though it has the stock, hammer, and trigger of a Remington Genesis with a jazzed up trigger guard that has a lever in the front to open the action. Once the action is tipped open, there's a breech plug that bears a striking resemblance to the Speed Breech of the TC Triumph. It says it can be removed without any additional tools but it doesn't say whether or not it's a 90 degree and out design like the Speed Breech. The base model is suppose to be $400.

They also cover the new CVA Apex, the Knight Extreme Ultimate Slam, and the TC Triumph Bone Collector.

All the Rem Gen's have alloy frames and I haven't heard of anyone having issues with them.

well let me be the first one ..i had a TRADITION PURSUIT and after 55 shots the frame craped out on me ..my friend bought one and it is ready to crap out also ..if you shoot a box of bullets in one year you will have no problems ..mine was a good shooter and i liked the way it handled very light not barrel heavy like my ENCORE ...

Well Heinz I know what wyou mean about the Pursuit. My friend won one in a raffle and made the comment after the first range session that he is glad he won it because he sure would never buy one. I on the other hand have a Genesis and I have no trouble with it.

My first question when it comes to copies is how much of the quality did they copy. The Genesis is a good gun for the money and while I like my Endeavor it is in a different price class; for the amount spent the Triumph is top of the line in my opinion. And matching the quality of the Triumph or the design [without infringement on pattens] is unlikely.I will be interested in seeing what turns up when the reports start coming in from people who buy. Maybe so. If you buy into the Randy Wakeman conspiracy theories, the Traditions muzzleloaders are inferior because they're made in Spain. Maybe the Spanish use inferior alloy materials and Thompson Center uses superior stuff.

Talking Just Bought it

Bought my Traditions Vortek Vista Stealth with scope Yesterday. All wound up to try it out. I'll let you all know soon what I think. Even though I haven't shot it yet, everything is pretty easy to work. I am impressed with all of the features it has.
