TK2000 now it shoots
Well I got the TPS wads and tried them today with lead and hevi shot. With the multi-metal wads my patterns were terrible. Only about 90-110 hits in 10" at 30 yards with #6 shot. With the TPS my numbers are 170-190 in 10" at 30 yards. Hard to believe that wad makes that much diff. Now hevi shot reaaly shoots. At 30 yards 258 in 10". This wad holds right at 2oz. of lead and hevi. At 40 yards with hevi I got 173 in 10". That is almost as many as my 3.5" 870 with hevi-13 2.25oz. I am now very excited to use this gun for the rest of the turkey season. Should be a solid 45-50 yard turkey gun. Nopt too bad considering black powder ML.

Glad to hear it shoots well for you. Now you know what I'm talking about when I say it's a shooter. I had to play a little at first but once you find what it likes, stick with it. I did not get a chance this spring season to get a bird, we had high winds and rain everytime I went out. Heard gobbling and almost had them gobblers come in but it was hard as they had hens with them. Good luck, once you get one with it your hooked.

cayugad......Do not know how to post pics or links. The wads are the BPI TPS (tungsten propulsion). They are three inch and yellow. They are softer than the multi-metal and Ithink that is allowing the shot to expand in the jug choke. My feeling is that the multi-metal wads were just shooting right thru jug with minimal expanding. I could be wrong on that. The TPS wad works very good with lead and hevi. It is the same thing as posted by spwidmar a while back. I am using 85 gr. 777. That should be the equivalent of 100 gr. true black. No idea what the velocity is but I sure would like a ballpark figure just to know.........Doug
