Default new rifle for the collection

I was lucky enough to spot a rifle that aforum member on a different forum had for sale. Its a .50 caliber Thompson Center Renegade.

It arrived today and I was very pleased with the rifle. I have it all cleaned up (although it was very clean to begin with) and am ready to shoot it. If the weather holds maybe tomorrow I will get a chance to make some smoke.

Well Dave, you missed out on mine with a tack driving 45 cal LRH barrel on it. But one of our other forum members is snatching it up.
I hope you have good luck with your new toy. Looks like an original T/C barrel.

Good luck with the new addition.

Let us know how it shoots. By the way...what are you gonna start her with?

70 grains of Triple Seven 2f and a patched roundball. I will try it with and without a wad under it. If that don't work then we will kick it up to 90 grains of black powder with the same patched ball and see if I can make it behave.

That is what i am using for these Rondy shoots - .018 patch and I am now skipping the wonder wad - that patch holds up to the heat just fine.

It is a beautiful day here this morning.... I have got to take a freind of mine to P. Therapy @ noon (new knee), but I think I'll run to the farm this afternoon and shoot the Renegade and maybe even try that 'rock sparker', but then again the .17 and peeper hunting thinks awful good also...
