Yes, CVA does make a 209 breech plug for that gun. My old Stag Horn came with #11 cap ignition and i changed it over. The newer Stag Horns come with 209 ignition.

Contact CVA and I think they new breech plug is like $15.00 but don't quote me. The 209 conversion is a new breech plug. I think the old hammer striker works fine on them. I have the #11, musket, and 209 breech plug. All I have ever used is the 209 primers in my Staghorn.

You get a new striker when you order the conversion kit it is different. The one you got is a cut out circle,
the new one comes with a cone shaped point on the end.CVA has them in stock.

One does not need a new striker when changing over to the209 breech plug. The breechplug for the StagHorn and the bolt action guns is the center one in the photo at far right.

If he has an original #11 striker it will not work with a 209 primer. That is why they sell the conversion kits.

Put a 209 breech plug in my made in 2000 StagHorn in 2002. It has worked well eversince.Sohave several others that i have put 209 breech plugs into.

The "conversion kit" is for pre-2000 StagHorn guns.
