Default I did! I did get out to shoot!!!!

Did not think I was going to make it out today and it was a great day... But about 3:00 this afternoon I had some time grabbed the 50 cal Renegade and headed to the farm.

At the ML shoot last Sunday I was having trouble with the 100 yard plus shots - i was a lot lower than I thought I should be. Any way got to the set the target board out at 100 yards, it a 2' square board - plenty big to shoot at. Well I loaded up and promptly shot the 2x4 base off the target - could not believe it... Took a second shot cause I thought the first one was a fluke - it was 2" higher but at least on the board.

By the time I got done - I tweaked the gun and it was shooting very well, raised the sight, moved the powder from 70 to 80 grains T7-2f and changed the patch from a .015 to .018 - lost the wad that i thought I needed and now I am a happy camper.... well at least til I shoot it again.

Hey Sabot - glad you got out and hopefully solved a problem. I got out too and I think I blew my cheapie Simmons scope up. I couldn' hold a group a 50 yds. Came home and put the Nikon back on. Hopefully Monday will be a decent day and I will get out and sight it in.

Glad you got out also.... to bad about the simmons, I have a cheapy Tasco World Class that I know is going to crap out - and I have been saying that for 5-6 years now but the dang thing just keeps working - guess i shouldn't complain...

I am hoping to get some shooting next week also but turkey season starts Wednesday so I am not sure what the schedule is going to be like....

Hey Sabot - Don't hold your breath with that Tasco World Class. I have a 2 - 7x on a Rem 700 30-06 and I don't know how many thousands of rounds have gone down that bore. And that scope is as clear and sharp as the day I put it on.
