Default Shot before the rain came...pics

Finallygot a chance to shoot but got rained on soon after starting. Shot the 45 cal Accura using Lehighs & XTPs. Only had light blue CR sabots available. Was a bit dissapointed with the Lehighs and figured it may be because of the sabot. They went down pretty easy. But then I shot the XTPs and they went down easy also with the same sabots.Only they shot much better (thanks UC).

The groups below were my best. All at 100yds. All with BH209.

Looks like I've got some expeimenting to do. I'll try some tan sabots, I guesss. Different powder charges too! Any other suggestions on sabots?

How much Bh were you shooting? I am thinking because of the length of the Lehigh you might need to shoot a pretty healthy load to get them perform.

Very nice group with the XTP's. I'll take that group all day.

How about the smooth blue harvesters for a tighter loading sabot ?

Awesome group with the XTP's! No need to mess around with that one. You probably can dial in the Lehighs more by playing around with the powder charges and/or using a different sabot- just will take some experimenting

I wouldnt change sabots yet. Your groups are alot better then my first with those bullets. I would increase your powder and see what happens. Those XTP'S will do the job on Deer for sure. Very nice shooting.

I just noticed you were using the crush rib sabots. They were no good for me with the SST'S either. I didnt shoot any XTP'S.

You may be right. They didn't shoot worth a darn using 90 gr of BH. A touch better with 100 and the last group was with 110gr.

The CVA book says 100 gr max which I am sure is conservative but I'm not sure how high I can go.
