True Lane - but it feels much nicer when you can fondle several before you buy.

Well, if it was me ,I would go to the one that had the largest inventory of Black powder guns and supplies. If I didn't find what I was looking for I would head the opposite direction anyway and just make a day out of it. take the family and make it fun. My kids are little so they like road trips. As long as I can find a park for them to play in or a Wal-mart for the ol lady then i could spend as much time in the Gun shop as needed.

Are you looking for a traditional muzzleloader??? If so, Dixons is reputed to be pretty good...

Well, the largest inventory would be at Cayugad's. As far as grouse and other critters I use my .36 and a mirror if I want to make it difficult.

Well what a wasted day. I drove the 82 miles to RMCSports Center only to be very disappointed. The prices were terrible. I almost swallowed my tongue when I looked a a 20 count box of 50 cal 275 gr Maxihunters and saw a tag for $17.99. He did have a Crockett rifle but he wanted $420 for it. I could get it online for $329. Most of his other stuff was priced higher even than Cabelas.
I'm going to Dixons next week & see what he has.
