Default urethane and gun wax

I am wanting to put gun wax on my 54 cal stock. the stain I used is the minwax polyshades. stain and polyurethane in 1.

would the gun wax "gum up" on me?

looking at the stock it needs something.

Ditto Corey. Give it time to cure. I don't think the wax will hurt. I put Johnson's paste wax on my gun stocks. Some have a polyurethane finish, others have acrylic and others are just plain Tru-Oil. The gun stock wax is nothing more than furniture paste wax. It just cost a lot more.
