Default Leupold Ultimate Slam and Nikon Omega Lookin Good???

I have been playing around with these two scopes for a couple months now. Tonight i made my last range trip before my Hog hunt here in PA with Lehigh bullets. http://lehighbullets.com/products.asp?cat=23. I really have come to the conclusion that Leupold is superior in clarity and letting light in before dark.http://www.leupold.com/_pdfs/ultimateslam_3_9x40_specsheet.pdf

I do like the Nikon Omega, but i really think it's because of the extended eye relief which is really nice when your shooting stoubt loads.

I have not really compared ballistic reticles yet. The Nikoplex reticle is nice on the Omega scope. Natchez has that on sale right now for $139.99. That's a steal. The Leupold reticle is very nice as well. Right now i prefer the Leupold only because of clarity. The Omega is still a very nice scope in my opinion. I will hunt with both, and plan on testing the reticle's with Lehigh bullets and Hornady SST'S during Turkey season

I own and use only one U-Slam and several Bushnell 3200's - I do not have a Nikon Omega and I have only looked at them in a store.

I have to say I really do like the U-Slam especially in low light conditions - it seems to shine there. The shorter eye relief is not a problem and I actually presfer it to some extent as itseems to block out some of the peripheral things going on around you. I can not remember but does not eye relief also affect/effect 'field of view' Guess I need to look that up... less somebody knows of the top of their head.

Here is your link - pretty easy to find...

http://www.nikonhunting.com/riflescopes-omega.html

I did do some checking on field of view...

Nikon Omega 25.2' on 3x and 8.4' on 9x

U-Slam 32.9' on 3x and 13.1' on 9x

Bushnell Elite 3200 31.5' on 3 and 10' on 9x

Just me but I really am in favor of 'field of view' - my eyes are old and shot

Actually he didn't. He made an observation that there was no link for the Omega.

man, that is a steal. I don't even own a ML yet and I'm considering getting one. It'll look good on my future T/C Triumph.
