Default .54cal Hawken - My new meat rifle

Here she be! I am happy with the trade and she's nice to carry around. Maybe 7 1/2lbs , 28" barrel, slow twist and that big ol 54cal bore! I am going to replace both sights and they suck major butt. I am refinishing my kentucky so it will be a while before this one goes on the chopping block.

Tomorrow you get to see the mighty .58 mountain rifle gettin dirty on the range now that i casted some .562" balls!

Nice MD. How many CVAs does this make now. I still like the browned barreled 54 the best. I still drool when I see that one. If ya ever want to sell it, let me know.

give it 6 months to a year and i'll probably have something up for sale I'd like to start using them for hunting. Sold my optima and omega before i even hunted with them!

This one gets stripped down for browning and new stain/finish as soon as i am finished with my kentucky.

Today will be a shooting day with my .58

Yesterdays 25yd target.

Todays 25 yard target. I had to use a .018 pillow ticking patch as a buffer to keep the main patch from falling apart.

Tomorrow i will take it back to 58 yards and make sure i adjust the sights up to 3" high @ 50 and then i can play with 100 yards later on. Im loving this rifle!

3" group @ 100 yards today. That was measuring 2 shots. My third shot was with a wheel weight cast round ball and it took off on a wild run and went wide left. I will try 90gr RS the next time i take it out. Starting to like this rifle more and more each time i shoot it. 15 shots total and im already dialed in for 100 yards

That's not a group. That's a couple. You can't measure a couple. It's like the difference between married sex and group sex - two different things altogether.
