Default parts arrived

got my order in today from TOW. Front sight ended up not fitting, i need the sight with the thicker base. I did install the buckhorn sight and carved in a nice V. Sight picture is perfectly clear now. I'll just use the original cva front sight and file it down if i need to.

I also started reshaping the lock on my kentucky lastnight and once thats done i will strip the finish and redo her with rusty walnut stain and Original Oil Finish. This stuff looks like a good prodct.

A german silver on a brass base would look good with a buckhorn rear. I put that combo on a CVA mountain kit I built years ago. I got lucky, it was about 2" high at 100yds. with a 6 o'clock hold. My son-in-law still shoots it.

thats the one i ordered too. I accidently clicked on the picture of the front sight that had the 1/16th" base and it wouldnt work on this one. I am about to order the other front sight here in a bit.

i tested some rusty walnut and love the rich reddish color it leaves. 4 thin coats and its looking good. The oil finish also smells great. You can tell BLO is in there.
