245gr powerbelt with a test tip. The tip adds 17gr weight so it was 262gr total on my scale. Basically the only areas losing weight is the tail that forms as the lead starts to mushroom.

if worked!! I found a chunk of aluminum from a bow sight kit i bought some time ago. well i jb welded it together, drilled my holes and out came a threaded insert that i push into the cavity of a HP Powerbelt.

Current tip i like right now fits flush with the nose, i also have one that sticks out a little so it smears across the nose of the bullet upon impact.

One weighs 14 grains and the longer one weighs 17 grains.

I just shot a 295gr powerbelt with the 17gr tip insert and it weighed in at 309grains and came out of my sand box weighing in at 301 grains! Perfect cone shape, Not thin or bendable. This was also done at 58 yards and with 100 grains Pyrodex RS.

That overgrown Hollow point is the only reason PB act up when you load them up. Lee

Yup, i agree. I notice that even the 225 or 275gr powerbelt in .45cal can handle more powder than the 50cals in HEAVIER weight! .45 has a much smaller HP and the nose is pointed more. I cant wait to try this insert out this season. I have to find aluminum so i can do a .45cal mold. I also am going to experiment with hardening the tip and see how that does.
