Default Cabelas Pine Ridge ML Scope with a Genesis

Cabelas is currently running their Pine Ridge 3-9X40 with the integral rings for $70. I was wondering if anyone has mounted one of these (with the rings that come with it) on a Genesis. It looks like they are l0w/medium rings so I am hesitant to buy it if the torch cam won't clear the scope.

Also, any reports on the scope itself would be appreciated too.

if the rings are medium or low, the cam will never clear it. As for the scope, I have never used one. But others have.

this is what I originally went with on my Genesis, and it worked really good. Combined price would be similar to what you want to spend.

Huntingjunkie, Thanks for pointing out your report. I remember reading that now. Still concerned about the clearance on the Genesis.

Cayugad, Thanks to you too. If you dont' mind telling me, what reticle does that scope have. Is it just cross hair? I prefer that over a lot of the ones that have a lot of extra markings. I am seriously considering ordering the scope and mounts that you posted. I was going to leave it open sights for a year but if I can scope it for under $100 with a reliable scope then I will go ahead and do it.

I have a couple Pine Ridge scopes. They ain't bad. Probably made by Tasco (bushnell). I have a 2 - 7 on a Rem 700 '06 and I have 2 multi-reticle red dot type scopes. One that was on a Mini 14 that I traded and its setting on my loading bench and another that is on my S&W 44 and has been for years. No problems with it at all and that recoils more than my Genesis.

That scope has regular cross hairs, but it also had the ability to turn a switch and they the cross hairs turn red illuminated. There are 11 different brightness settings. They are pretty cool. Actually when that was on my Genesis, it shot really good. I took that off, and put a Nikon Omega on the rifle. That scope I mounted on a traditional rifle.

muzzlenut - I got a set of T/C Gorilla Grip mounts and rings and they work well on the Genesis. The scope is easily removed for cleaning and maintains zero when reinstalled.
