Default 54 cal. T/C night hawk

Hey guys,I have a question,in my 54 cal. the rifleing groves don.t seem to be very deep. With the barrel clean you can just see the groves. Is this normal?

I'm not familiar with that gun but I have some slow twist barrels that have deep rifling (.012)and some fast twist barrels with shallow rifling( like .005) Maybe it is a fast twist barrel. Are you sure it's not a Fire hawk instead of a night hawk?. I think the rifling in a fire hawk is .005.The Thunder hawk also I believe is shallow rifling.

That gun I believe has a twist of 1:38 and a rifling of about .006. It will shoot conicals better than round balls although some have had success with prb if the powder is low.( not exceeding 70 gr.) I would stick with conicals and 90 gr. . The twist is a litttle slow to stabilize some of the new saboted bullets, but that is the fun of experimenting
