Default Need help finding .54 caliber hawkin

I have looked everywhere and I cant find a .54 hawken rifle or a .62 caliber green mountain barrel. Anybody know where I can find one? I found a .54 caliber hawken on gunbroker for under $200 but I am nervous about buying used guns, especialy a muzzloader. I am wanting to shoot deer with the .54 caliber and then switch out barrels and shoot squirrels with the smoothbore .62 caliber barrel packed with buckshot.

Williams in Michigan has 2. 1 cva 28" barrel, 1 investarms 23" barrel. I think used is all there is.

I don't know if you're talking about a specific brand, but Cabelas has hawken-style guns in 50 and 54.

If you are near a Cabelas, go look at them. Also check the returns, I found a decent one in Hammond, IN, marked down to a reasonable price though I would have offered less still.

T/C made the best 54 cal hawken if you ask me. I'd be pretty surprised if you can't find one used.

If you do get your rig assembled, consider something other that buckshot for squirrels. It will make a poor pattern and the squirrels you do hit may be quite damaged.

I found a 56 cal Renegade smoothbore on guns america for 175. You could easily get a 54 cal barrel for that one and have essentially what you're thinking about, just not so fancy.

You might find one NIB on an auction site or one sitting on a shelf somewhere, but they actually stopped making them a long time ago. Check with FoxRidge Outfitters and see if they have and .54 caliber Hawkins left. I think they are about $600.00
