Default Time to get'er ready!

Got a big order of Powerbelts coming in and so i got the CVA Mountain Stalker out from the corner, dusted it off and run a couple dry patches down the bore to clean out any dust there may be. I really love this rifle as its a really dependable rifle and does the job. I picked up fresh powder and caps today and now i just have to wait for my 50pack of 245 AT's to come in that i bought off of Breechplug. The others will be here in a few weeks ( over 200 of them) Tomorrow i am going to get to know the rifle all over again and just plink some targets with round balls at 25 and 50 yards to settle my nerves. Im used to blade sights and this one has the fiber optics which i hate.

40gr RS .015 patch and a .490 ball sounds like a good load just to play with.

I do that once in a while.. Take a rifle I have not shot in a while and basically learn it all over again. Have fun.

will do! I am actually polishing the lock/parts right now. I did that to the lock on my new 58cal mtn rifle and its easily the smoothest lock i've ever pulled back on a muzzy.

took my nephew out today with his 45 hawken and me with the 50 mtn stalker. We did his shooting first, one shot @ 100 yards didnt show up * turned out he was shooting far to the right* I took one shot at 100 yards and again, nothing showed up but i saw the ball hit dirt, a good 2 feet low.

we brought the target in to 25 yards and my nephew got his shooting 2" high @ 25 and center. His first shot at 25 yards was 3" to the right. His last 2 shots were center and 1/2" group.

Mine turned out to be DEAD ON @ 25 yards, where ever you put the tip of the front sight was exactly where it hit. After a 3 shot group i had 3 balls touching. My last shot i adjusted and put it 2" high @ 25. Tomorrow we are going to do it again if the wind isnt to bad.

Some short shooting movies here. The second video shows how much wind we had.

Neet videos. Good shooting form there, I could detect no sign of a flinch.
