Default New CVA Accura.

After getting the Accura and coating it w/ Ultra Bore Coat and using Ultra Gun Shield. I took it out today.

Well; all went well . I started w/ 65gr. BH209 w/ the Hornady FPB, using the Rem. STS 209 primers. I put pink teflon on the breechplug.
Shot 7 times at 10yd's to adjust the open sights. The fiberoptics are nice but my eyesight just insn't what it use to be and hard to get a fine pic with it, kinda blurry. Anyway.
Everything went according to plan. When cleaning There was a little soot in the barrel but cleaned up very easy w/ hoppes #9. The BP had zero blowback and nothing even on the threads, acourse it was only 65grs. It cleaned up w/o any effort. Wiped er down and put it away for today. Thanks for all the help. Allen

It sounds like a good day on the range. And that's what counts. There will be more days and bigger loads. Also it sounds like a great rifle. No blow back and easy to clean. That sounds real nice.

Those bullets work well for me too. But I will say that they are too expensive for "fun" shooting for me. I found a couple packs on sale so I'm all set for a little fine tuning when the weather turns.

What would be a good bullet to play around with?

Pick up some XTP's from MidSouth. Last time I bought some 250 and 300gr for $13 for 50 I think. Try some black Crushed Rib sabots with them. They shoot real well out of my CVA Wolf.

10mm 200 grain XTPs in appropriate sabots (either blue Harvester or blue MMP depending upon how tight your bore is). Try about 90 grains of BH209 behind them.
