Default Sabot/bullet ammo box

I'm wondering if anybody makes an ammo box for ML sabots/bullets?I've been searching around and I can't seem to find quite what I have in mind.

What I'm thinking of are those sectioned plastic boxes that you can get for about any caliber cartridge that are made by a fewcompanies. The ones that come to mind are Frankford Arsenal and MTM. It would be convenient if I had one the right size for 50 cal sabots and bullets to throw in the range bag. It would obviously be pretty shallow compared to most cartridge boxes, but tall enough to close over ML bullets sitting in a sabots.

After doing a quick search, these might work. They are made for the 500 S&W Mag, 500 Linebaugh, and the 50 Beowulf. Pretty good idea though.

These work well with .45 bullets in sabots. Use the .454Casull/50AE. They're short enough to pull the bullets and sabots out with your fingers.

I'll have totry one for 50AE. I figured they would be the right diameter, but I thought they might be too deep. I've got 45ACP boxes that are just a hair too small in diameter. It seems like the 500 S&W mag are probably too deep.

I find these things to be really handy. I have them for all of my rifle and pistol rounds.

Look at ZAA-074: The ammo can organizerfits a .50 caliber can. I use this and it works great.

Good idea. I guess I'm just a tight a**. I usually dump my bullets in one container and my sabots in another. Then I put the bullets in the sabots and back into the bullet box (Hornady XTPs). What's left goes into the sabot pack until the box gets low.

falcon- Looks like you've got a nice setup there.

I just want some bullet/sabot boxes so I ordered a few of the Cabelas 50AE boxes to try. I had thought about an empty 54 cal pellet box too, because I tried them in a 777 50 cal pellet box and the holes were just a hair too small, but since I don'thave any reason to buy 54 cal pelletsI would have to findan empty boxsomewhere. The Cabelas boxes are less that $3 each so I don't think I can go wrong.

The 50AE box from Cabelas took a little modification, but it worked out well. I found that the sabots/bullets sat down low enough in the holes that it was hard to pick them up with my fat fingers. Also, there was too much head space so if it got flipped over everything got scrambled up.

I found a sheet of packing foam laying around that was probably ~3/16" thick, and I cut little squares to put down in the bottom of the holes so they would sit up a little higher. I then lined the lid with a couple layers of it to fill the head space. Now I can pick them up easily and when the box is closed everything stays put.
