Default .32 cal 1" Renegade barrel to heavy???

Found a .32 cal green mountain barrel to drop in to one of my renegades. Both of the renegades are 1" barrels. Do you all think that barrel will be to heavy to squirrel hunt with?

Its going to be heavy of course.. but you lean into a tree they are not bad. I will bet it would be a very accurate barrel. Would sure make small game hunting a challenge.

Depends...How big are you???

Is it a 28 inch barrel and 15/16th across the flats???

I shoot a .54 with a 1 1/16 x 15/16 x 38 inch barrel and find that it's not too heavy, but that's just me...

A heavy barrel settles into the sight and holds steadier...

If you think it's too heavy after you buy it, you can always cut it off...

It is 1" across the flats and Im pretty sure its 28" long and trust me the scale says Im pretty big enough I just thought that maybe carrying it through the mountains goofing off chasing squirrels it may get to be a burden

Weight wise, it is going to be heavy. But you sound like someone that can handle the task. I just weighed one of my Renegades with a GMB on it, and your looking at 8+ pounds.

I think one of the most heavy rifles I hunt with is a Renegade with a stainless steel .50 caliber barrel and scope on it. I carried that around a little this last season, and decided that I liked that rifle better walking to a stand and back to the house.

You can bet it's going to be heavy. There is a lot of steel around that little hole. That's why I opted for the 45 cal. for my Renegade. And that is on the heavy side. But boy it sure makes up for it in accruacy. And it does hold 'steady' for me.

I would say usable for bench only, I would estimate the barrel at 4 times the weight of a 50 cal; that's a lot to lug through the woods, a 45 will work fine and have much better capabilities for multiple use. Lee
