Default Road trip

Took a road trip today with the wife and two of the kids.

Went down to Gurnee Ill. (bass-pro) Thought I could get some after season sales. Boy was I disappointed !!!!!

Shock Waves= 19.99 for the 15 ct.

Maxi-hunters, Maxi-balls= 19.99 for 20 ct.

777= 25.99 lb.

Absolutely no deals on rifles,

Needless to say I saved my money, except for breakfast and lunch.
Bad enough to go home empty-handed you don't have to be hungry too

I was kind of disappointed with the new Bass Pro they put in by my house. The only good ML thing they had on sale this year was BH209 for 29.99 a bottle. The only good deal ive foundthis yearwas atCabelas, they30 packs of shockwaves for 13.99 awhile back...

Some of these larger sporting good stores no longer try to draw buyers in with good sales on select items. They know they have a market and all they have to do is wait us out. Wal Mart is about the only place I have found with some of the more excellentafter season sales.

Some of the local hunting/fishing shops have after season sales. I know Williams gunsight does and a couple of others.

That's terrible. I was recently in my local Gander Mountain and Shockwaves were like $16 for a 30-pack...

I found that Bass Pro also has higher prices in-store than they do online (at least for some items). I printed out a price for something online and they wouldn't honor it at the store. The guy told me that the difference was to make up for the shipping costs, but even with that it was cheaper to buy online.

I went to the Cabela's in Hammond IN over the weekend. They had a Cabela's Hawken in the Bargain Cave that looked unfired but the stockwas pretty beat up and missing the lower sling swivel stud, for 350. I'm sure it could be had for less given the dings on the stock. I would offer 200 - 250 tops if I wanted one bad enough. They also had a couple of inlines but I didn't look them over too much. They were about 50 off new price.

20.00 for 15 shockwaves ia a little ridiculous, I even looked a couple times to see if it wasn't the 30 pck.

Dick's Sporting Goods still has them for 7.97, so I usually buy a couple when I get close.

Scheels in appleton has the Knight shadow for 179.00 (blue/black) Down from 249.00

Picked these up at Sportsman's warehouse for 1.97 ea.

terrible, we dont even go near BASS PRO/CABELAS.

as dave said, WAL-MART had good deals for awhile.

i find that some of the gun shops have things on shelves for years, i found rb .490 for 10 dollars and powerbelts 20 pack for 12 .99 on his shelves,maxi-balls for 8 dollars

little dusty but a lot cheaper.

stay away from those MAXI-HUNTERS,

Actually Bass pro is about 125 miles and Cabelas 100 miles. Just get there once every-other year, maybe
