Default Hornady FPB????

Will this bulletwork in a traditional T/C Hawkens 50cal. side, lock 1 in 48 twist. Have any of you tried these in a gun like this. Wal-mart has them on sale right now and I was thinking about picking up a few packs but wanted your input first. What do you think? Will they work?

That is hard to say. I am sure it will shoot them. Whether it will be accurate is another question. All rifles are a mystery to themselves. What shoots well in one rifle might not shoot well at all in a similar one. All you could do is buy them and try with different powder charges.

Just shot them today in my T/C renegade with a 1:48 twist behind 80 grains of FFG triple 7. Off the sandbags they grouped 1"-2" groups with open sights at 75 yards. Could only imagine how much better they would shoot with a scope.

That is sure good to know.. I have a Hawkins Flintlock and a Traditions Flintlock I would like to try them in. I figure 80 grains of Goex 3f should be about right...
