pyrodex pellets question

I noticed one end of the pellets is a little different than the other. One side is kinda bevelled. Is it supposed to drop in a certain way? Wasn't sure if one side ignited better. I tried both ways and it worked fine. Just wondering

the beveled side has an igniter and should load first. You can tell by the color. It is darker black

I was told once to load them down your barrel how they come out of the box. The last box I bought didn't have the pellets all sitting the same way, you know the darker side down. I'd say in the last box I bought 60% of the pellets were facing the wrong way. Just something to check from now on....at least I will be.

On Pyrodex pellets, load them as if your arm was a crane. They lift up out of the box and are shifted over and lowered into the bore. The bottom does have a little black powder on them to help with ignition.

I've seen cranes eat fish and frogs. Never seen one loading pellets though.
