Default B209 and bullet weight

What would you suggest as an optimal bullet weight out of a 50cal ML and B209. Thought I read somewhere that heavier is better, but not over 350?
This will be used for deer hunting.

Default RE: B209 and bullet weight

This changes with the shape of the bullet; a short explanation; the length of a bulletand the diameter has a direct relationship to the twist it needs to stabilize it, the weight only enters into the equation in the fact that it changes the speed at which the bullet leaves the barrel which in turn changes the RPM.
In a more direct answer to your question my Greehil program says the ideal bullet [if you use the spire configuration ] is about 275 gr in a rounder nose shape that would be more like 300gr.
I did an approximate length to weight conversion here by measuring some bullets as the program gives the answer in diameter and length.
Hope this helps. Lee
PS this is assuming a 1 in 28 twist
