Default Primers--not understanding the differences

Merry Christmas to all! I am not understanding the differences between primers. I have seen where some say they are using .25acp versus the 209; or that versus the 209. I didn't know you could use anything BESIDES the 209!!!!!! I picked up a pack of Winchester 777 209 primers the other day from a local sporting goods retailer. I have everything I need (except time) to shoot my new Triumph! I'd like to know what setup works best for my gun; which I know is range time and shooting. Someone please explain the differences in primers. Thanks--DrAsus

Default RE: Primers--not understanding the differences

Those will work just fine. In SOME rifles, they convert the breech plug to accept a .25acp shell and fire that instead of a 209 primer. This was common with some people when Triple Seven powder was causing excessive crud rings. In your Triumph the Winchester W209 will work just fine, no matter what kind of powder you want to shoot. So when you get some time, go out there and have fun.
