What is the difference between the red Hornady 50 cal low drag sabot w/45 cal 250 grain sst/ml and the black Hornady 50 cal sabot w/ 45cal 250 grain sst/ml?

VVVAAA,
The low drag sabots are thinner than the standard sabots. They are useful if the standard sabot loads 2-hands tight and needing pounding, to get down the barrel on a fouled barrel.
Otherwise, the bullet is the same.
Two things to consider: 1) ease of loading, 2) sufficient accuracy for your hunting conditions.
Only trial and experimentation with your rifle will determine which is best for you.
Have fun while working up a good load.

I've always shot the Hornady 44-240 hp/xtp with my Remington 700ml and now with the CVA accura along with th BH 209 I'm looking for another. Have not shot the BH 209 yet but from what I've read, loading shot after shot is not an issue? The ease of loading, would this be the only issue between the one or the other? Thanks for your time.

I use the low drag .50 cals in my optima elite due to the tight fit. The originals are tight the first time they are loaded.
