Do you think that Dan will make any conicals for 50 cal under 400 grains?

I think Dave is exactly right. Molds are a real problem for .50 caliber conical makers - there just isn't much out there (aside from tapered minnie - maxi types) that are readily available. That means custom molds at high prices.

His 400 grainer is a modified Lyman Great Plains mold (removed the taper).

he made me some 350 grainers a couple years back for my X-150. I think he used the lyman mold.
