RE: Two Quick Questions..
Be careful with your storage question.. depending on the extreme temperature change your rifle will encounter you have to decide where to store it. For instance.. walk in from the cold in to a warm house. If you wear glasses, what happens? Condensation of course. All use glasses wearing people have experienced the fog on the lens. Well the same will happen in your barrel if you change the temperatures too fast.
If you feel the need to keep them loaded, keep the rifle in the same temperature and humidity you hunted in approximately. Take patches and dry the bore. Maybe even run a light oil patch in the bore. Wipe the outside of the rifle off with the oil patch. And I store the rifle on a soft cotton cloth, muzzle end down, in a corner. Tie a red bandanna in the trigger guard and tell people that means the rifle is loaded and should be left alone (kids love to play with guns).
