I have one, and I am very happy with it. This was my firest year hunting with a ML, and I got my first doe. I am shooting a 295 grain powerbelt, with 80 grains of 777 powder, and a Winchester 777 primer. It is a great gun, and very inexpencive. Very easy to clean too.

I have one. Easy to clean, shoots about anything you want to try with it, and is a good price. Drawbacks are cheap rifle sights and ramrod. I scoped mine and bought a range rod. Only use my stock ramrod while hunting. I get 1 inch groups at 100 yards with a NikonPro Staff 2x7x32 scope,300gr Barnes Expander MZ/Crushed Rib sabot, 2-50gr Pyrodex pellets, and a W209 primer.

Every thing I have READ from the people that own them indicate a real good bargin for the buck. If our Wal Mart puts any of them on their close out season sale, I might buy one just to play with it.

Cayugad, you make it sound like a toy. LOL! I have been watching our Walmarts around here, and none of them have any ML's left at all. I was hoping to pick up an Optima when they started to mark them down. But I guess I will have to wait.

My hobby is shooting guns so while I collect a lot of them, I never purchase them strictly for ... I need this to hunt with. So I guess they are kind of a toy to me. I want to add... I do not mean to insinuate that muzzleloaders are toys and not to be taken seriously.. They are a firearm and if abused or not used properly can cause death and injury..
There were some Optima's at the Wal Mart but they were only down to $250.00 for a thumbhole camo nickel model. While that might be a good deal, its not enough to make me jump.

I saw the CVA Optima for $175 at WM and the T/C Triumph for $275 both were synthetic stock and blued barrel. I really don't need another ML but those were good buys.
