Default Remington Genesis - Powder Charge Question

My buddy bought one. It states that the gun is only recommended a max charge of 100 grains (2 pellets)

Is this true?

You can't run 150 grains in the genesis?

Not a show stopper...just curious.

Thanks.

You can shoot 150. Don't know why you would want to... but you can. Of the 3 Genesis' that I have shot personally they all grouped best between 80 and 110g.

Only BPI/CVA limits powder charges to 100 grain loose, anyway that si the only company I know of...

Check page15 in the owners manual for suggested and recommended loads

Exactly - mine and another forum member's both shoot 100 gr of Pyrodex P under a 300 gr Hornady XTP with CR sabot.

From what's I've read, almost all of the Genesis owners are getting the best performance from 100g loads.

I am going to push my Genesis and see what happens with something like a Nosler and 150 grains of pellets this spring. It should be interesting.

I'm also planning to try increased loads, 110, 120 and 130 gr Pyrodex RS under the FPBs. If accuracy is maintained with 130 gr, I'll have a 150 yd load: 2" high at 50, 2.5" high at 75, zero at 125 and 3.5" low at 150.

Not too shabby for a 350 gr slug.

You're right it does. We'll see if the gun will shoot it some time over the summer. Might even burn through my RS and get some BH 209.
