Default cva buckorn

My wife bought me a cva buckhorn in 50 cal i am new too muzzle loading so just looking for somle feed back on the rifle.

IMO they are a great rifle. The Buckhorn took the place of the Staghorn with a few modifications to it, that IMO made the rifle even better. They put in a double lug system, and a friendly grip stock. I like the hammer striker design. While yes it will fowl the bottom of your scope, and is filthy in the open breech, just the simplicity of the design makes the rifle almost bullet proof.

Clean the rifle real well, read the instructions. Then try loading 80 grains of Pyrodex RS and a .44 caliber 300 grain XTP in a green crushed rib sabot, or a 250 grain shockwave. You might then start increasing the load a little, but you will find a good shooter.

Also if it is like my Staghorn, it has a great trigger. I like the rifle. I think you will too.
