What is the difference between Winchester Triple se7en primers, and plain old Winchester 209 Primers? I had some Winchester primers given to me buy a guy at work, but I needed to buy some more. When I went to buy them, they only had the Winchester Triple se7en primers. Will my CVA shoot different with the different primers?

The Triple Se7en primers are not as hot as the Winchester W209. The idea behind this is, Triple Se7en can form a crud ring in some rifles with a hot ignition system, so they wanted to cool it down. I shoot the Winchester W209. I found a place that had them for $3.99 and they wanted $6.99 for the Triple Se7en ones.

If you are shooting triple seven powder use the winchester 777 primers, Pyrodex, Goex, etc. use any other primer, Black Horn 209, use CCI 209 Magnum primers or Federal 209A because BH 209 needs a hotter primer with more pressure. Hope this helps.

The theory is that the std 209 primers are hotter and allow the bullet to jump a bit before the powder ignites causing accuracy to suffer. Again, this is a theory that I read (or heard) somewhere. True or not????????
But I did buy some T7 primers at wally world prior to the last outing with my Genesis. And my groups were tighter. Was it me, the primers or the rifle, or all 3? Who knows.

I'd like to add that primers CAN affect accuracy. I noticed better accuracy and less flyers when I switched from Federal 209A's (a "hot" primer) to the Winchester Triple Se7en's. However, not everyone experiences this. You should be fine with the regular W209's, but if you would shoot them side-by-side, you may notice a difference in accuracy.
