My ol pappy was servicing a well site the other day and ran into the rancher that owned a chit load of property. My dad was telling him about my elk hunt and as it turns out, the rancher has a local hunting guide bring people in for trophy bull elk hunts. No clue what it costs for that but he let my dad know that he allows hunters during the december season *1st-31st* to hunt cow elk for free! Next year i am going to put in for that tag and give it a try. Its maybe a 10-15 minute drive from my house. Thats pretty darn nice of the guy to allow Cow elk hunters to hunt his property for free.
Perhaps he is interested in herd management.. that is a real stroke of luck on your part.
