That's what I would call a "sinful" Traditions Hawken. Good price, and I really like laminate stocks. Anyway, there would be no shame in putting a scope on that one.

I don't like it, and I don't need it, and I refuse to buy it.. Semisane on the other hand could use a rifle like that. Don't worry, it does not need BlackHorn 209. But you do.

Novel, though I would never spend good money on another Traditions gun.

Uh uh! It's one of those guns that are just "not my thing". Besides, a new Green Mountain 1 in 70" twist .54 caplock barrel for the Renegade arrived today in the big brown truck. Had to do the standard 1/8" cut off of the under rib to get it into the stock. So nowthe sinful .45 LRH barrel is in the closetand the iron sighted .54 is in the stock.Look for a range report next Monday.

Oh, here's another one for you to chew over. I put the following ad on the Louisiana Sportsman forum two days ago.

Got and Old Rusted Renegade?
I need a parts gun. Looking for an old Thompson Center RENEGADE. Don't care about barrel condition. If you have a junker you want to get rid of, shoot me an e-mail.

and got this e-mail this morning

I have one in pretty good shape.give me a call 985-513-xxxx,Jeff

I'm meeting the guy a noon tomorrow. He wants $75 for the gun.

I don't need no stinking Blackhorn.

Now THAT'S a gun I could buy. But DANG, you can buy a factory reconditioned Lyman Trade Rifle in .54 flint of $30 less.

It looks like a black/nickel/laminate version of the Traditions "Woodsman". I have the Woodsman and it's always been a great little gun. Taken three deer with it, which is more than any of my other black powder guns so I've got a soft spot for it. Although, my Omega is quickly catching up... There's just something about a sidelock that's more "classy" yet rustic at the same time. Like a restored model T.

Looks like a great gun.

Now that trapper pistol. Hmmm. I may get me one of them. I am planning to use my 50 cal caplock for bear this year and this may be a nice carry for a second shot.
