Hey JOHNNY2 - What's happening with the Mustang?
Hey Johnny2, so far as I know you and I are the only guys in the whole world with a Lyman Mustang. What's your experience with it been? Like it? Getting ready to ditch it? Any good loads?

I am using the 300 grain shock wave bullets and 100 grain of loose
Goex 2F powder with win 209 primers..The bullet is a bit tight but it shoots circles around
anything else I have tried. So I will stick with them.....
I have got 2 deer so far to date with it and plan on maybe another here
this week end.....
And I am not going to get rid of it...It is a damn good shootin rifle...Now
my son wants to get one of them...The trigger is a little rough, but no
big deal....I got my 45-120 out a day or so ago and now let me tell
you she is a thumper...Next year, the Good Lord willing I plan on taking her
out hunting....Or maybe my 50-70 rolling block....All with black powder of course..
I have pretty much given up on the modern day rifles, all except for the 22-250
It is great fun trying to snipe crows out to forever with her.....Corn to be done soon though..
It never ends......
And yes I think you and I are the only ones that have a Mustang rifle....John

RE: Hey JOHNNY2 - What's happening with the Mustang?
Yeah, the trigger on mine was pretty rough too - maybe the worst trigger on any gun I've ever had. I worked my over myself. Did a little polishing in the internals and improved it to a fully acceptable level. Also, there's a tiny adjustment screw in there that you can play with. I read somewhere that they improved the trigger pull on the later models. Mine was one of the early ones.
I know I'll never get rid of mine. It's a rock solid gun. I reas post about putting new hinge pins on Encores to tighten them up. My Mustang could not be any tighter.
